Scilab is truly an impressive software package for numerical work. Matrix manipulations are very fast, and that makes Scilab an excellent tool to develop special-purpose numerical simulations. Scilab made it possible to develop my own 2-D computational mass transfer program with chemical reaction. Your programming team is truly first class!

Scilab is a great software I found for Linux. But the gui  is a bit ugly.  it seems you guys are using tcl tk. Maybe you can use Tile to have a better gui.
Hope you to modify Scilab as soon as posible.

thank you

I'm a retired Chemical Engineer, doing occasional consulting work.  Also, on  a non permanent basis I teach chemists and chemical engineering students on mattres of the trade.
I love SciLab and Scicos because they give me access to a high quality mathematical and simulation software, that otherwise I couldn't afford to have and use.
I plan to edit a small brochure on the use of SciLab for Brazilian students, because I believe that this new technology of calculating things instead of guessing is very important to be included in the minds of the new generation and get them off the "developing nation" culture into the competitively productive frame of mind of more developed communities.
Congratulations to the SciLab and Scicos teams, they've produced a tool they and France can be proud of.
