Very nice program this Scilab. I have always liked it but found the documentation much to obtuse to learn. I am happy to see that a book has finally been published about the application of Scilab to solving problems in science and engineering. I am interested in a practical tutorial like introduction to the program with liberally commented and with plenty of examples. Is the new Scilab book like this? If so I will order it right away. Meanwhile I just built a Dual Pentium II (350 Mhz) linux box with kernel 2.2.13 and I must say the the parallel version of scilab (Scilab//) is stunningly fast! Great work guys!

Buen trabajo.

An excellent package. Extremely useful for my electrial engineering studies. An equal to matlab in performance and far superior in price. Can't beat free!!!
