Scilab is one of the few really useful (and fast) programs that make engineer's life easier and happier.
Let's hope that some day it will also have DSP algorithm prototyping capabilities like Matlab.

Scicos with Scilab is the best that I ever found on the web. My wish is to see spectral analysis extensions in Scicos. This would be really great.
