As above, your groups efforts should realy be commended. Matlab is becoming pretty expensive and and your efforts really help kepp them humble. Also I very much doubt Matlab has any plans to come up with their package to simulate fractional brownian motion. I only wish I knew enough to be able to contribute to the wonderful package that Scilab has become. Thanks again

Just downloaded the version 2.5 and like it very much. Have been using 2.4.1 in classes (inverse theory, digital signal processing, etc) and have found that the students like having the option to duplicate the university computer lab at home (at a price that students can afford). France is to be commended for their support of math, science, and engineering. It is an example that other countries should follow. One thing that would be useful is additional documentation on X-resources. The latest version defaults to requiring a mouse click to fix the plot window geometry, and this is not convenient when rapidly overplotting in a single plot window.

Just took a look to see if you are a viable alternative to MATLAB, which is becoming just too expensive. There's a good chance we may run Scilab in parallel to MATLAB for a while and perform an extended benchmark test.
