Bonjour! I have been informed about the Scilab when stayed in Toulouse (ENSIGC). I have a pretty nice expericence in working with MatLab and gnuplot, recently tried Octave. I write a textbook devoted to mathematical software (compilers, interpreters, TeX and so on). I plan to move to Linux completely and I am interested in portable free software. I see that Scilab is a good choice.

Very nice software. Found just when I was about to pay a lot of money for upgrading a rather finicky and expensive commercial software. Very easy to start off with and easy to program with. Also the online documentation and demos are great, as also the "Intro.ps" so compact and complete. I am going to ask my colleagues to try it out.

I was shopping around for MatLab when I found your product. No need to continue shopping. Thanks for a truly useful free software product. Will definitely try to make contributions of my own.
