7 How to install Scilab on UNIX boxes?
After you unpack the distribution, be sure to look at the README file where installation information are given.
In order to build Scilab from the source code, you need some compilers (please refer to the README file for more details).
Scilab requires approximately 150Mb of disk storage to unpack and install from scratch. The binary distribution (which includes the
on-line documentation) is less than 30Mb.
