Summary : |
A Toolbox for large matrices |
Description : | Scilin is a Scilab toolbox on iterative methods to solve large linear systems, developed by Aladin Group (IRISA-INRIA). Most of these algorithms are independent of the matrix internal format. They can even use a functional representation (``matrix-free''). For the incomplete factorizations, it uses the SPARSKIT library, developed by Y. Saad (University of Minnesota). |

Currently, I am trying to get familiar with the toolbox, so I cannot comment on its use yet. It seems to be a very attractive and powerful tool in signal processing, inverse systems solving and optimization. However, the instalation of the files, as they are provided right now, fails. Even the previous version had a lot of problems and it wasn't easy to install. I would suggest a thorough revision of the installation procedure. Once installed, the toolbox seems to work normally.
