When configuring the kernel, you probably noticed a "USB support"
section containing options pertaining to USB, also known as the Universal
Serial Bus. USB is a relatively new way of connecting peripheral devices
to PCs. These days, there are USB mice, keyboards, game controllers,
printers, modems, and more. Because Linux USB support is relatively new,
many Linux users have never used USB devices on their Linux systems, or
may not be fully up-to-speed on how Linux USB support works. The
following panels will give you a quick introduction to Linux USB to help
you get started.
