For problems such as these, use your best judgment to determine
where to go for help. If this is your first attempt at compiling a
program from source, this may be a good time to select another,
easier program to compile. Once you get the simpler program
compiled, you may have the necessary experience to fix your originally encountered
problem. As you continue to learn more
about how UNIX works, you'll get closer to the point where you can actually "tweak" Makefiles and
sources to get even seemingly flaky code to compile cleanly!
